Christmas is just around the corner and those of you, wanderlettes, who left gift shopping for the last minute are at the right place! This year I found it quite hard to put down only a few products into my guide, as there are so many cool things out there! So without further ado, here’s a list of what’s for me the ultimate gift material for her – that damn cool girl in your life, whether she’s your friend, girlfriend, sister, mum or granny, I’m sure you won’t go wrong with these!
You won’t ever go wrong with putting a good book under the Christmas tree. This my no.1 pick is Love Her Wild by Atticus – I just adore his poetry and his words really touch my heart. Pure magic I must say. Other great books to give are The Atlas of Beauty (a perfect coffee table book!), The Art of Non-Conformity, Girlboss or The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**ck.
I think a solid decor piece is such a perfect gift – it’s personal and practical at the same time. It’s something that will always remind her of you and that can possibly last her for a long time.
A good mug for a morning coffee or a late night tea is a fail-safe and oh, such a stylish gift! I love the Just My Type mug by Anthropologie, Celestial Print mug by Urban Outfitters and a birdy print mug by H&M.
I absolutely love burning candles all year round, but they do belong to the festive season in particular. You can give her a set of cool design candleholders or a nice scented candle and you can be sure they’ll come to use. I am a total sucker for a Danish brand Kähler – they make the most stylish and cute candleholders, so pick one or better, mix them up and add a Scandi chic touch to her home! From candles, if she fancies sweeter scents, she’ll adore the Mermaid Lagoon candle by Urban Outfitters and if she’s rather into aromatherapy, Happiness by Mirins Copenhagen is a must try!
If the special lady in your life is into wall art, then giving her a good wall art in a frame is a gift, which will be well appreciated. Maybe you have an idea what piece she had laid her eyes on or she gave you a hint – but if not, if you dare, there are so many wall arts which are more subtle or which simply come in smaller sizes – if you’re not sure she’ll love it. In such case opt for something nice and clean, not too statement. I fell in love with this Keep Me Wild print by Honeymoon Hotel and this Mountain is Calling print, which you can find amongst a ton of others at Junique.
Printing your favourite memory with her and putting it in a fun frame will literally please any nostalgic heart. I love quirky frames and this glittered one by Urban Outfitters is the one!
A good quality clothing piece won’t ever be a wrong gift for the fashionista in your life, let me tell you! It’s a special time of the year so if you feel like treating her with a special piece, this is the time to go all in.
Another piece worth investing into is a good, classic watch. It’s such an exclusive and timeless piece and she’ll make a good use of it at her work or as a nice accessory. This Louise watch by Mermaid Stories is a very feminine take on a classic, clean design, while feeling so light when on hand. It’s all love.
A pair of statement earrings will please every fashion loving soul and these beauties from Zara are a beautiful accessory perfect for any party. They’re my kind of colour and I’ve already put them on my wishlist.
I think this pre-Christmas time is exceptionally exciting for every make-up addict out there. I couldn’t take my eyes off all those festive make-up palettes and limited editions of skincare.
A fun, festive palette won’t ever be a miss – and this Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eye eyeshadow palette is a dream come true. It contains great shades perfect to wear for a New Year’s Eve party or to simply sass up a day look.
If she’s always the busy one, she’ll appreciate getting some her-time and relax endlessly. Mirins Copenhagen makes great home spa products, they’re nailing aromatherapy, while keeping their products clean and stylish. This Happiness Body Scrub smells like a dream and will pamper her skin after a long day.
Speaking of great scents and skin-pampering, we all know how important is to take care of our skin, especially our hands, in the winter time. This natural hand cream by Burt’s Bees could be a great stocking filler or a cute mini gift and it will be definitely used.
Giving a perfume might be a bit of a risk, but if you know your lady well, I’m sure you’ll do just fine. For girls who like darker and a bit more mystical scents, this Ange ou Démon perfume by Givenchy will be an absolute dream. I’ve had it for a while now and it’s one of a kind.
A proper wanderlette girl will always get excited over a travel-themed gift. If you don’t want to go all in and get her a proper travel gear, opt for something more decent, but travel inspired. Something she’ll make a good use of.
A diary is a spot on gift for every girl who loves to write down memories, travel plans, meetings or just random thoughts which cross her mind. These two diaries/planners are my top picks, coming in a subtle pink colour. The Rolling Stones limited edition notebook is by Moleskine and the “Live more, worry less” notebook can be found at Junique.
Okay, let’s stop here for a second. If she’s been dreaming about having a scratching map – head right over to Travelling Dutchies and get this one. It’s the most beautifully illustrated scratch map I’ve seen and since it hangs on my bedroom wall I get this itch to scratch more and more places. Just go for it. It’s SO fun and I promise you she’ll love it!
This last gift is a great investment if she loves to keep memories very close. Many of us no longer print photos, what is, I must say, a huge pity, but this instant printer can change it all. You can easily print photos from your phone gallery or social media and they’ll come out looking like you just took them on an Instax camera, thanks to this Instax SP-2 Printer. Well, hello nostalgy!
Do you already have a gift favourite or are you rather putting any of these on your own wishlist? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to make these days merry and bright! x
